An Unexpected Gift from Java
When Central Java was devastated by an earthquake in 2006, Rotary Club member Beverley Barnes who has links to people living in a village on the outskirts of Yogyakarta approached the Club for assistance.
![]() | Rotary were quick to have money sent directly to the people which enabled them to bring in food, milk for the children, water, temporary cover and medicines. It was with a great deal of pleasure and surprise that Rotary received a new lectern that had been designed and built by the people of that village.
