Board of Directors 2007-08
The Club is incorporated as an association under the Office of Fair Trading, Victoria. There are five officers on the board (Treasurer, President, President elect, Past President, Secretary) and five members on the board with portfolios allocated per year according to Club operations. Directors are elected/appointed annually by Club members at its Annual General Meeting, generally held in October, and are responsible for providing leadership to the Club and managing Club affairs for the year. The incoming President of the Club and board directors undertake various training activities organized through District 9800 ready to take up the leadership role in the coming financial year. |  |  PRESIDENT |
Each year, the Club is expected to identify its priorities for the year. This year (2007-2008), the Club has 4 objectives:
1. To increase and diversify Club membership. We recognize that younger members are needed for the future and that the profile and collegiality of the Club benefits from having members of mixed vocational backgrounds.
2. To enhance communications and public relations of the Club. While the name of Rotary is universally respected, we believe that the work of our members in voluntary service and the contribution of our many supporters and sponsors is not well known at the community level.
3. To diversify the source of funds available for community service. Like other community groups, Rotary tries to use all available avenues for income to distribute to local and international projects. We try to achieve funds through our own fund-raising efforts, through grants, through sponsorships.
4. To maintain a program of Club activities that provides members with opportunities for fellowship and a sense of satisfaction. Belonging to Rotary attracts members who want to provide community service, and who want to enjoy regular contact with their colleagues.
The board meets on a monthly basis, and members are welcome at any time to attend.
